The Klickitat School District is excited to share initial plans to bring our greenhouse to life through a sustainable, student-centered hydroponics program designed to grow fresh vegetables year-round. This innovative approach allows students to learn hands-on about science, agriculture, and sustainability while producing healthy food using significantly less water and space than traditional farming. The greenhouse will serve as a living classroom, connecting learning to real-world skills and environmental stewardship, while also creating opportunities to support our school nutrition program and explore community partnerships. This initiative reflects our commitment to future-focused learning, responsible resource use, and preparing students with practical skills that benefit both our schools and the Klickitat community.
