Welcome to the Klickitat School District

About Us

It is an honor to serve as interim superintendent of this exceptional district, where students, staff, families, and community members share a deep commitment to education and one another. As we look ahead, my focus will center on continuing the important work of developing a clear and forward-thinking strategic plan, expanding career and technical education pathways, and strengthening our partnerships within the community. Together, we will strive to make Klickitat the district of choice for our region — a district where families want to send their children to be engaged, challenged, supported, believed in, cared for,  learn, work, and grow.

In collaboration with the school board, staff, and families, we will also explore opportunities to enhance sustainability and maintain a strong, viable K–12 program that serves the unique needs of our students. Part of this work includes researching the potential benefits and challenges of a four-day school week, ensuring that all voices are heard and that any recommendation reflects what is best for our community.

I am excited to continue building on the strengths of this district and invite you to join us in shaping a bright and promising future for Klickitat students.

Jeff Dillion, Ph.D.
Superintendent – Klickitat School District #402

Parent Academic Advisory Committee

As part of the Klickitat School District’s Strategic Plan, the district is launching a Parent Academic Advisory Committee (PAAC) to support and strengthen our shared vision for student success. The committee is directly aligned to the Strategic Plan pillars—particularly Empowered Learners & Personalized Pathways, Future-Ready Skills, and Strong Partnerships & Trust—and will serve as an advisory body focused on teaching, learning, and academic innovation. Through dialogue and collaboration, the PAAC will help the district stay informed about trends in future-focused education systems, including personalized and mastery-based learning, student voice and agency, durable skills, and workforce and college readiness, ensuring our academic direction reflects both research-based practices and community priorities.

The Parent Academic Advisory Committee is designed to elevate parent voice as a valued partner in continuous improvement. While the committee does not function as a decision-making body, its input will inform district planning, program design, and implementation across strategic initiatives. By creating a structured space for collaboration, the PAAC supports the district’s commitment to transparency, trust, and shared responsibility for student outcomes. This partnership reflects our belief that strong, future-ready schools are built when families, educators, and leadership work together—aligned to clear pillars, guided by data and research, and grounded in what is best for every student.

Interested Parents please send Dr. Jeff Dillon and email with a short narrative sharing why you would like to serve on this advisory committee.  jeff.dillon@klickitatsd.org
