Behavioral Health Services

Klickitat Schools is engaging in a program to increase behavioral health services to our schools. This program is being implemented at all schools throughout Klickitat County, funded and serviced through Beacon Health and ESD112. The goals of the program are to help prevent and reduce emotional distress and increase access to counseling. To accomplish these goals, students will have the opportunity to participate in classroom discussions, small group, and/or individual meetings. Leslie Moorehead has been assigned as the floating behavioral health therapist in our schools. Ms Knight is a licensed associate clinical social worker in the State of Washington. She holds a Masters of Social Work with an emphasis on mental health. She has previous experience working with adolescents in a variety of positions including counseling and adoptions work. She has also received specialized training in evidence based practices specific to anxiety, depression, and trauma.

We are hopeful this program will show promising results and assist students with their educational goals. If you think of ways that a therapist can help your student, you can refer them by contacting Peter Pappas (peter.pappas@klickitatsd.org) or Justin Draper (justin.draper@klickitatsd.org).
