Klickitat Schools will be in remote learning June 1st through 3rd. Virtual classes will start at 9am and go until 12pm. Secondary students have tutoring hours available from 12:30pm to 3:30pm as scheduled by their teachers through Teams.
Breakfast and lunch will be available for pickup at the community center from 12:15p-1:15p for in town students. In town students will sign up at the start of the day with their teachers.
There will be no sports during the next three days. All practices and games are cancelled Tuesday through Thursday this week. Middle school basketball practice will resume on Friday immediately following school.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Klickitat School District will be in Remote Learning starting Tuesday, June 1 through Thursday, June 3. School will resume in-person learning starting Friday, June 4.
A student tested positive and was notified today. After consulting with the Health Department, the district is opting to wait 10 days following the last student contact day (at school), which was last Tuesday.
If you need books, materials, or your computer, please call the school between noon and four on Monday (May 31st) to set up a time to pick up needed supplies.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This has been an unprecedented school year in many ways. Students have been dealing with the world-wide struggles of a pandemic while trying to attend school and get an education.
Our state education entity, OSPI, and health care partners have created a survey to help learn more about the impact of the pandemic on our students. These results will be instrumental in guiding our district and others throughout the state in efforts to meet the needs of students. We will be administering the survey to the secondary students during the month of March and ensuring that our counselor, Laura Bales, and student support specialist, Megan Winn, are available for students at the time. Starting Monday, March 1st, students in grades K-12 will have in person learning from 9am to 3:05pm.
Lunch will be served on campus for students in grades K-12. Breakfasts will be sent home with students at the end of the day. High school (9-12) students will be allowed to eat lunch off campus with a parental permission slip filled out and returned to the office.
Students will continue to arrive starting at 8:45am and be in their seats ready to learn by 9am.

Students, Parents and Community Members,
In-person learning for K-5 students will resume on Monday, February 1. The next phase, grades 6-12, is tentatively scheduled to return two weeks later, on February 15th. This start date could change if the COVID community spread in the county increases.
At this time, the hours of in-person learning will continue to be 9:00 to 12:00 with distance/hybrid learning in the afternoon. Grade K-5 and Grade 6-12 students will continue with remote learning until each grade band resumes in-person learning.
The district is committed to continuing placing student and staff safety first. The daily symptom form and commitment to stay home when symptomatic, mask wearing, frequent hand washing, and maintaining physical distance are the first line of defense. We are committed to frequent sanitizing and continuing with the enhanced cleaning/sanitizing regiment.

The Klickitat County Health Department met with County Superintendents on December 2. The COVID case rate is in the High Activity Level. The Klickitat School District will remain in Remote Instruction. Due to staffing constraints, the district will continue to limit the in-school support to students without internet bandwidth supportive of remote instruction.
The next update will be after the December 9 Health Department Update.
This form must be signed and temperature recorded daily by parent or guardian for student to be on campus. Students will show this to their teachers at the start of the day to gain entrance to the school.
Under no circumstances will a child be permitted to join class without that day's signature and temperature from a parent/guardian.
