I would like to thank everyone who believes in the inner HEART of Klickitat! It is our Home!
Thank You to every participant involved in our 1st of 4 Sessions of the Horizons Project Study Circles. The kick-off on January 21st, 2007 had a great turn out. Also there was an excellent donation given by Papa Murphy's Pizza in Hood River. Thank You!
The Study Circles consist of community members who discuss poverty. Brainstorming together they will create many diverse ideas and by the 4th session they will begin to develop ways to create prosperity and unity within our town.
On January 21st, Klickitat developed five groups of diverse individuals (Youth, Adults, Ladies Auxillary Members, Church Members, School Staff and Board Members, and Community CouncilMembers.) There was lots ideas and new faces for some of us.
Some of our brainstorming ideas were: getting extra activities for youth and senior citizens, strengthening our community and it's pride, the need for local law enforcement, welcoming newcommunity members, knowing our community has potential for a tourist attraction, and many other ideas.
Thanks~ Allie Spino
